Surprisingly,Eduardo Domínguez closed his cycle at Estudiantes de La Plata. The coachaccepted an offer from Atlético Mineiro and this Friday he will coach his last match in charge of Pincha, when he hostsSarmiento de Junín at the UNO stadium.
The decision has already been communicated toJuan Sebastián Verón and it will be finalized through theexecution of the release clause included in the latest contract renewal, which tied him to the La Plata club untilthe end of 2027. Atlético Mineiro will pay thecorresponding compensation to free the coach, who will thensign a contract in Brazil until December 31 of that same year.

Domínguez will take over in place ofJorge Sampaoli, who was dismissed after apoor start to the season. The Brazilian side has collected onlytwo points in three Brasileirao matchdays (a draw against Palmeiras and Remo, and a defeat to Bragantino), although itmanaged to qualify for the semifinals of the Campeonato Mineiro. The objective will be to straighten the course in the domestic league and compete in theCopa Sudamericana.
The departure comes in themiddle of the Torneo Apertura anda few weeks before the start of the Copa Libertadores, a competition that Estudiantes will face without the coach who led the club to glory in recent years. During his tenure, Domínguez wonseveral titles and consolidated acompetitive projectthat returned Pincha to the top of domestic soccer.

Since his arrival at the beginning of 2023, Barba has coached163 matches at Pincha, of which hewon74,drew 44, andlost 45. In terms of titles, he won five:2023 Copa Argentina,2024 Copa de la Liga,Trofeo de Campeones (2024 and 2025), and2025 Torneo Clausura.
