The American developer Bungie, known for legendary franchises such as Halo and Destiny, has confirmed the opening of registrations for a closed technical test of Marathon, its highly anticipated multiplayer shooter.
The event will take place between October 22 and 27, after months of uncertainty and an indefinite delay that caused concern among fans and industry analysts.
This stage will be decisive for both Bungie and Sony, as both companies seek to reposition the project as a competitive title within the online shooter genre.
How to participate in the Marathon technical test
Access to the test will be highly limited and available only to players in Europe and North America. Those who wish to participate must register on Bungie's official website before October 16.
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) users will be able to register. All selected participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), which will prevent them from sharing images, videos, or comments about the gameplay experience.

The test version will include substantial improvements compared to the Alpha phase:
- Three new playable maps.
- Five customizable Runner Shells or character skins.
- Proximity chat system.
- Adjustments to combat pacing.
- Optional solo mode.
- Deeper environmental narrative.
These new features directly address community criticism and aim to regain the trust of the gaming audience.
