Capilla del Monte granted Coopi the management of water and sewage services for 15 years
The Carlos Paz organization signed a contract with the municipality after months of joint technical work
The Capilla del Monte Deliberative Council approved by majority the transfer of public services to the Cooperativa Integral. The ordinance authorizes the entity to take charge of water and sewage in the city for the next 15 years. Mayor Fabricio Díaz and the president of the cooperative signed the contract last Monday.
For three decades, the service was provided by Emos, a municipal entity that accumulated losses and never achieved financial balance. According to the mayor, the measure seeks to correct this chronic imbalance. Díaz stated that with this decision they will be able to plan new infrastructure projects.
The agreement was signed just a few days after Coopi's definitive departure from Villa Carlos Paz. There, it ceased operations after years of legal conflict with Mayor Esteban Avilés. Despite its departure, the cooperative maintained its structure and operational capacity.

Coopi's experience as a calling card
General manager Rodolfo Frizza explained that they arrived in Capilla on the recommendation of Minister Gustavo Brandán. After several meetings with the municipality, they managed to design a work plan. The objective, he said, is to apply the experience they have accumulated over the years in other cities.
Frizza pointed out that the joint technical effort carried out for more than 120 days was key. He emphasized that the cooperative has grown significantly in recent years and has added new services. Even so, he stressed that its specialty remains water and sanitation.
"The expectation is to bring to Capilla del Monte all the consolidated experience in Carlos Paz, having been the entity that, without a doubt, solved the water and sanitation problem in Carlos Paz and in the south of Punilla," he concluded.
