Is Carlos Palacios on the edge? The conversation with Russo that could define his future
The Chilean player was not drafted to face Huracán, and his future at Boca will be decided after this Sunday's match
The situation of Carlos Palacios at Boca continues to add controversial chapters. The Chilean forward was not drafted for the second consecutive match by Miguel Ángel Russo, this time for the match against Huracán, corresponding to the third round of Group A of the 2025 Torneo Clausura.
The exclusion has reignited doubts about the current situation of the former Colo Colo player, who so far this season has already missed several training sessions, citing various physical problems. According to TyC Sports, once the match at Parque Patricios ends, the Xeneize coach will have a face-to-face meeting with Palacios to determine his situation at the club.
The internal situation deepened after the pre-match press conference, where Russo avoided addressing the issue, leaving open the interpretation regarding the player's actual condition. This contrasted with the statements of Chicho Serna, who days earlier had indicated that Palacios did not play against Atlético Tucumán due to a knee discomfort.

In the past two weeks, the 25-year-old player has trained intermittently. Before the match with Argentinos Juniors, he had a fever and then reported knee pain, which prevented him from training with the group.
After the pending conversation with the coach, it will be determined whether the Chilean will be considered for the match against Racing, which will be played on Saturday, August 9 at La Bombonera, for the fourth round of the tournament. His continuity in the squad, as of today, is under review.
