El jefe del Comando Sur de Estados Unidos visitará nuevamente la Argentina.
This time, Holsey will share coordination of the event with the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Xavier Isaac, as hosts.
According to official information released by the United States embassy in Buenos Aires, the main topics of discussion will focus on strengthening maritime domain awareness and supporting the Armed Forces in assisting security forces in the fight against transnational criminal organizations. The meeting aims to establish itself as a space for coordination in defense matters, both in relation to traditional challenges and in the face of new global threats.
In addition to his participation in SOUTHDEC, Holsey will maintain a parallel three-day agenda that includes planned bilateral meetings with high-ranking military officials and Defense sector authorities. Among them, a meeting is scheduled with Brigadier Isaac and authorities from the ministry led by Minister Luis Petri. According to the embassy's statement, these meetings seek to deepen military and strategic cooperation between both countries.
The visit is part of a series of recent exchanges between the U.S. administration and the Argentine government. In fact, this year Holsey had already traveled to Buenos Aires, where on April 29 he held a meeting at Casa Rosada with President Javier Milei.
