Seven parties registered for the legislative elections. The deadline to submit candidates is August 17

The closing of alliances in Córdoba left a fragmented scenario with surprises for the October elections. Seven coalitions registered with the Electoral Court. Among them are groups linked to the ruling party, progressivism, and La Libertad Avanza.
The alliance “Provincias Unidas” was formed, an empty shell with the seal of five Peronist governors. Juan Schiaretti is trying to reinvent his image in a coalition that seeks to survive the wear and tear of Córdoba's PJ. Natalia de la Sota, without structure or clear support, decided to break away and launch her own group, “Defendamos Córdoba.”
In the same ideological spectrum, Kirchnerism will present a separate list. It is still unknown who will head its ticket in the province. The most visible local reference is Constanza “Coti” San Pedro, linked to Juan Grabois.
El peronismo en Córdoba irá fragmentado, agudizando su crisis local.
La Libertad Avanza in alliance and PRO alone
La Libertad Avanza sealed an agreement with Luis Juez's Frente Cívico. It also added Primero la Gente and the local MID of National Deputy Cecilia Ibañez. President Javier Milei's coalition presents itself as the only 100% pure liberal option in the province.
The Córdoba PRO failed to close alliances and was left out of all coalitions. Mauricio Macri, without influence in Córdoba, lost prominence to Patricia Bullrich. His local ally, Laura Rodríguez Machado, is being considered as a possible candidate.
For now, the libertarian alliance doesn't have a defined candidate to head the list in Córdoba. The main name has not yet been confirmed, and a decision is expected in the coming days. In its presentation, the alliance firmly criticized Llaryora's fiscal policy, stating that it suffocates production and workers.La Libertad Avanza irá en un frente con el mismo nombre, donde lo integra junto al Frente Cívico, el MID y Primero La Gente.
Fractured Radicalism: De Loredo, without a list and with an uncertain future
The UCR registered without alliances and will once again compete with the historic “Lista 3.” Ramón Mestre will head the ticket after the collapse of the internal election. De Loredo was left without a place, and his political future is an enigma.Radicalism left an image of division, reminiscent of its crises in the 1990s. Rodrigo de Loredo was left out of the race after the failure of the internal election. His political future is uncertain and, for now, he is not among the main names for October.
The possibility that he will not compete creates a void in the group that brought together the “Generation X” Radicals. If his absence is confirmed, it would be a significant loss. The decision will come on August 17.
La UCR no presentó alianza, lo que indica que presentaría lista solitaria el 17 de agosto.
García Elorrio launches a new alliance with Carrió and López Murphy
Aurelio García Elorrio presented “Encuentro por la República”, with centrist leaders. It includes Encuentro Vecinal, Republicanos Unidos, and Coalición Cívica. They position themselves as "an alternative to the PJ without joining Milei's movement."Elorrio could head the list and claims to have a base of 70,000 “captive” votes. They uphold the Church's social doctrine and reject extremes. They criticize Kirchnerism, the provincial PJ, and Javier Milei.
The alliance seeks to attract moderate voters who do not feel represented by Milei or Peronism. It also distances itself from PRO, which it accuses of having lost its way. The group is made up of lukewarm leaders without a clear ideological or political identity.
García Elorrio irá con el frente de Lilita Carrió y López Murphy.
Other minor groups completing the board
In the end, the Frente de Izquierda reached an agreement and will present a united front, with leaders from MST, PO, PTS, and IS. The lists will be defined by internal agreement in the coming weeks. They aim to reach their historic 2% threshold in Córdoba.
Other registered coalitions are Ciudadanos, with Héctor Baldassi as a prominent figure. Also “Córdoba Te Quiero” and “La Libertad Siempre,” with minor groups. They will be formalized once the Electoral Court's formal review is completed.
August 17 is the deadline to register candidacies. On that day, the content of the voting booth will be defined. It will be the first time Córdoba votes with a Single Paper Ballot in a national election.
