The Argentine Olympic Committee (COA) has made official the list of athletes who will be part of the national delegation at the XXV Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. The team will be made up of eight athletes who will compete in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and luge, marking the largest Argentine presence at a winter edition since Turin 2006, when nine representatives took part.

The next edition of the Games will take place from February 6 to 22 and will mean the return of the premier winter sports event to Europe, after PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022. In addition, it will be the third time that Italy hosts the Winter Olympic Games, after Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956 and Turin 2006.

In alpine skiing, the Argentine team will consist of Francesca Baruzzi, Nicole Begue and Tiziano Gravier. Begue and Gravier will face their first Winter Olympic Games, while Baruzzi will be one of the leaders of the group. The skier, who was born in San Carlos de Bariloche, already had her Olympic debut in Beijing 2022, where she achieved two top-30 finishes (giant slalom and super-G), and she also has a notable background at the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, cross-country skiing will feature the participation of Agustina Groetzner, Nahiara Díaz González, Franco Dal Farra, and Mateo Sauma. The quartet will combine youth and experience, since Dal Farra and Díaz González will compete in their second Olympic Games after having taken part in the previous edition, while Groetzner and Sauma will make their debut at the premier sports event.

Dal Farra is continuing a family tradition linked to the discipline. His mother, Inés Alder, and his uncle Guillermo were Olympians in Albertville 1992, while his brother Marco competed in Lillehammer 2016. Meanwhile, Díaz González will once again represent the country after having made her debut at just 18 years of age in China. Meanwhile, Groetzner and Sauma, both natives of Bariloche, already have Youth Olympic experience (both competed at Lausanne 2020), and they will now make the leap to the elite level.

The delegation is completed by Verónica Ravenna, who will be the only Argentine representative in luge. The specialist, who was born in Buenos Aires and is based in Canada, will face her third Winter Olympic Games after having competed in PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022. Considered the country’s leading figure in the discipline, Ravenna has accumulated an extensive international career and will be one of the most experienced athletes on the Argentine team in Milano Cortina 2026.

The new edition of the Winter Olympic Games will begin on Friday, February 6 with the opening ceremony at the legendary San Ciro stadium and will conclude on Sunday, the 22nd with the closing ceremony at the Roman amphitheater in Verona. In Latin America, the entire event can be followed through the Claro Sports YouTube channel.
