The forward Julián Álvarez, currently at Atlético de Madrid, is experiencing a situation of off-field tension. According to journalist Matías Palacios, his inner circle believes the Argentine may have made a mistake by leaving Manchester City to join Diego Simeone's team in August 2024.
The transfer was worth millions and came with high expectations: Álvarez promised youth, mobility, and goals to strengthen the Colchonero attack. In his first season, he already showed flashes of quality, such as the brace against Valencia, which prompted praise from the coach: "He demonstrates maturity, humility, and consistent work," stated Simeone.

However, his individual performance hasn't translated into collective titles. After leaving a Manchester City accustomed to lifting trophies, the forward now faces a competitive Atlético but without winning major competitions, which generates frustration in his close circle.
