Córdoba: after an intense search, Brenda Torres's body was found
The discovery completes the body of the murdered young woman. There are two detainees who were part of her close circle
This Friday, Córdoba police found Brenda Torres's torso and head in the Chateau Carreras neighborhood. It was in a house known as the "house of horror", just a few blocks from where other remains had already been found. During the operation, two men, allegedly acquaintances of the victim, were also arrested.
The officers acted at dawn following an order from prosecutor Horacio Vázquez, who is in charge of the investigation. The discovery took place at 574 Hornero Street, at a location pointed out days earlier by acquaintances. The bag containing the remains will be subjected to genetic analysis to confirm the identity.
The place had already been under suspicion by Brenda's circle, who had requested a search of the premises. According to reports, the three had gathered there before the crime. Security cameras recorded key movements both at that house and at the sites where the bags were discarded.

A macabre sequence that shocks Córdoba
The previous Friday, a security guard found a bag containing human arms near the Mario Kempes stadium. Days later, workers found other bags with legs in the vicinity of the same area. Early this morning, the discovery of the torso and head completed the body.
The strongest hypothesis suggests that Brenda was murdered inside the house where the new remains were found. Afterwards, the body was allegedly dismembered with precision, which suggests some anatomical knowledge. The prosecution doesn't rule out that it was a premeditated crime.
Family members expressed discomfort with how the information was handled. They claim they learned about it from the media and that they had requested a search of that house days earlier. They also questioned the lack of communication with the investigators.

A life marked by marginalization and addiction
Brenda Torres was 24 years old and lived on the streets in western Córdoba. Her most frequent surroundings were areas such as Villa El Tropezón and La Favela. She was trapped in the consumption of "pipazo", a toxic mixture that affects thousands of young people.
According to her family, she had been arrested several times for minor thefts committed to buy drugs. She slept wherever she could and ate what was offered to her. She had no home or any family/social support.

A network of marginalization and violence
The mixture inhaled in light bulbs includes marijuana, cocaine, and other substances. It is sold in areas identified by neighbors as active trafficking points. "They close one kiosk and open another: the network never falls completely," neighborhood leaders report.
The police have not yet confirmed the identities of those arrested, but they are believed to be part of Brenda's close circle. The prosecution is keeping the case strictly confidential, while the charges that may apply to them are being analyzed.
The case will be addressed publicly at a press conference this Friday at 10 a.m., led by the Minister of Security, Juan Pablo Quinteros. Key details of the operation and future judicial measures are expected to be revealed.
