Trenes Argentinos announced the indefinite suspension of the railway services connecting Córdoba with Buenos Aires and Tucumán. The interruption began on Tuesday and also includes the regional route between Córdoba and Villa María. According to the state-owned company, the measure is due to inspection tasks requested by the track concessionaire.
The authorities did not specify the type of work to be carried out or the estimated timeframe for its completion. No information was provided on whether the suspension will affect other long-distance passenger service routes. The company indicated that tickets already purchased can be rescheduled or refunded through official channels.
The Córdoba–Buenos Aires route is one of the most used due to its low cost compared to other means of transportation. The service offered weekly departures from both terminals and experienced high demand, especially on weekends. For now, no timetable for resumption has been released.
