The strategy responds to the need to continue strengthening prevention and control actions in the province

Within the framework of the Strategic Vaccination and Comprehensive Approach Plan for the Prevention and Control of Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika, launched for the 2025-2026 season, the Government of Córdoba is expanding dengue vaccination to people up to 59 years of age, in the 13 prioritized departments.
It is important to remember that these departments are Capital, Colón, General San Martín, Marcos Juárez, Punilla, Río Cuarto, Río Segundo, San Alberto, San Javier, San Justo, Santa María, Tercero Arriba, and Unión.
Las dosis contra el Dengue están disponibles en los vacunatorios de los hospitales provinciales.
Sonia Nieva, general director of Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Health, reported that this plan began in 2024 (when health personnel were called to get vaccinated), and continued with young people aged 15 to 17, 18 to 24, and now from 15 to 59 years old.
"We have vaccines available to be administered and we are facing dengue season, we believe there will be cases. The idea is not to prevent the disease, but to counteract the symptoms," explained the official.
Dengue Doses Available in Córdoba
The doses are available at the vaccination centers of the provincial hospitals that serve as the main facility in each department, and at various municipal health centers.
Dengue vaccination requires a two-dose schedule, administered with a three-month interval between each dose.
This targeted strategy responds to the need to continue strengthening prevention and control actions, aiming to reduce the burden of symptomatic disease and the impact on high-risk patients due to the dengue virus.
Its inclusion is a preventive measure against dengue within the aforementioned Strategic Plan, with the purpose of reducing the burden of symptomatic disease (morbidity) and the impact on high-risk patients caused by this virus in the province of Córdoba.
