Córdoba experienced record-breaking storms in August, and Cruz Alta was the hardest-hit area.
The town recorded 332 millimeters (13.07 inches) in just a few hours, and the province activated a special fund to assist those affected
The storm that affected Córdoba over the weekend left unprecedented figures for this time of year. In just 48 hours, the highest rainfall levels for an August in the last one hundred years were recorded. Cruz Alta was the most affected, with 332 millimeters (13.07 inches) accumulated, while Inriville reached 187.8 millimeters (7.39 inches).
Given the magnitude of the phenomenon, the governor contacted the mayors of Cruz Alta, Los Surgentes, Marcos Juárez, and Santiago Temple. He also instructed several provincial departments to coordinate containment and immediate assistance efforts. The work included the ministries of Government, Social Development, Security, and Infrastructure and Public Services.
The Executive activated the Permanent Disaster Fund, which allows resources and essential items to be sent to those affected. Among the distributed items are mattresses, blankets, roofing sheets, and cleaning products. Meanwhile, Water Resources teams are using pumps and backhoes to drain the most compromised areas.

Assistance operations in the most affected localities
The Minister of Social Development, Laura Jure, traveled with Secretary General Paulo Cassinerio to Marcos Juárez to supervise the assistance. Both officials toured the most affected neighborhoods and personally accompanied residents who had lost their belongings. Meanwhile, Civil Defense, firefighters, and police coordinated actions with municipalities and communes.
Cruz Alta experienced the most critical situation due to the amount of water that covered streets and homes. Pumps designed for rice fields were installed there to speed up drainage and reduce the risk of further damage. About thirty families had to be evacuated from their homes due to the rapid advance of the water.
The Municipality of Cruz Alta decided to suspend classes at all educational levels on Monday. The phenomenon also impacted localities in Río Segundo, San Martín, Unión, and the south of San Justo. In several of them, roads were blocked, families were affected, and recovery efforts took place after a storm with no recent precedent.
