The Córdoba Legislature has suspended its regular sessions until October 29, following the elections on the 26th. Only a few committee meetings will be held, while most legislators are focusing their agendas on the electoral campaign. This pause reflects a common practice among legislative bodies during election periods.
Of the 30 committees in the Unicameral, only three meetings have taken place so far this month. Official sources state that legislative activity continues at a minimal level, but opposition members warn about delays in addressing pending projects.
Meanwhile, many legislators are focusing on grassroots work and campaign events, putting formal legislative management on hold. The lack of regular sessions has raised questions about the representatives' responsibility regarding their public duties.

On the campaign trail with guaranteed salaries
Among the 70 members of the body, some appear as candidates on both the ruling party and opposition ballots. Miguel Siciliano and Verónica Navarro Alegre are leading events attended by Juan Schiaretti, while others are supporting campaigns in the provincial interior.
Despite dedicating themselves to the campaign, legislators' salaries remain unchanged, which raises questions about ethics and efficiency in the use of public funds. The electoral pause allows parliamentarians to actively participate in events, meetings, and tours without losing income.
Justicialism and the opposition agree that they won't request special sessions, consolidating the historical practice of halting legislative activity before elections. This situation generates criticism regarding the prioritization of political interests over parliamentary work.

Diversity of support and strategies
Within the ruling party, legislators such as Facundo Torres, Nadia Fernández, and Pablo Ovejeros are focusing on grassroots campaigning and strengthening local candidacies. In the provincial interior, Abraham Galo and Julieta Rinaldi are leading similar efforts.
This dynamic highlights a pattern of electoral speculation. The Legislature halts its formal work to prioritize the campaign, while the institutional administration continues to pay full salaries to its members.
