The province of Córdoba will have a new command structure after the appointment of Marcelo Marín as the next chief of the local police. The announcement was made by the Minister of Security, Juan Pablo Quinteros, during a press conference held on Friday. This decision marks the end of Leonardo Gutiérrez's administration, who served as head of the institution during the most recent operational period.
Through an official statement, the Security Ministry expressed its recognition of the work carried out by the outgoing general commissioner in the force. The official note highlights the commitment and professional ethics that characterized Gutiérrez's leadership throughout the time he was in his position.
According to the ministerial authorities, these changes are part of a process of natural and orderly renewal of the security leadership. The main objective of this measure is to strengthen the functioning of the Córdoba Police through renewed leadership in its critical areas.

New leadership and official ceremony
The formalization of the new hierarchical positions will take place next Monday, December 29, through a general swearing-in ceremony. During the ceremony, Marcelo Marín will receive direct command of the Córdoba police force in the presence of senior officials from the local cabinet. The appointment seeks to provide continuity to the security policies implemented in the provincial territory under the guidelines of the current ministry.
Together with the new chief, other senior officers will join to fill the deputy chief positions that coordinate tasks in the capital and the interior of Córdoba. Alberto Bietti was appointed to serve as deputy chief in the Capital area, focusing on surveillance of the main regional urban zone. Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief's Office for the Interior will be under the responsibility of Iván Rey, who will oversee the operational branches throughout the province.
In the area of resource management, Federico Cisnero will remain in his current duties as the Administrative Deputy Chief of the existing police structure. This joint work scheme will seek to coordinate more efficiently the human and material resources allocated to the prevention of local crime. The new authorities will begin their duties immediately after the legal oath that will be administered at the headquarters of the local chief's office.
