The first six F-16 AM/BM MLU aircraft from Denmark landed this Friday at the Río Cuarto Material Area, based in the town of Las Higueras. The aircraft were received by technical teams who began preliminary inspection tasks and verification of the incorporated systems. Defense highlighted that this is the first formal contingent that will be part of the new operational structure.
The arrival marks the beginning of the deployment of the equipment that will strengthen the country's deterrent capability. The F-16s were received in Las Higueras by the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, who personally supervised their reception. The MLU platform enables navigation and combat systems in line with international standards, while the local air force begins progressive training.
The technical teams began reviewing the aircraft and conducting preliminary verifications under Petri's supervision, ensuring that each unit is ready to be integrated into the operational structure. Las Higueras will be the central point for operation and safeguarding of the fleet, which represents the greatest technological leap in decades. The authorities emphasized that the entire process was carried out without operational setbacks.
