The 2025 annual report shows a 23% decrease in violent incidents according to national criminal statistics
Córdoba reached a historic milestone in citizen security by recording in 2025 the lowest criminal mortality rate in decades. According to the National Criminal Information System (SNIC), 90 intentional homicides were recorded, establishing a rate of 2.28 per 100,000 people. This record represents the lowest statistical value since the year 2000, marking a significant break in the trend of regional criminality.
The year-on-year decrease was 23% compared with 2024, a period in which the total number of fatal victims rose to 117 cases. The analysis of the indicators reveals a drastic 73% drop in score-settling killings and a 67% reduction in crimes related to robberies. Likewise, a 53% decrease was detected in the number of femicides, although these declines contrast with other indicators of social conflict.
Despite the overall downward trend, the official figures warn of a worrying 42% increase in incidents of urban violence. On the other hand, situations linked to domestic violence also experienced a 9% rise compared with the measurements from the previous year. These variations make it possible to observe that the nature of lethal conflicts has shifted toward private and community coexistence settings.

Resolution of judicial cases and seizure of weaponry
The Córdoba security minister, Juan Pablo Quinteros, linked these results to the implementation of the 90/10 Plan and to the use of heat maps to detect critical areas. During the various preventive controls, authorities managed to seize 2,488 firearms, 3,702 bladed weapons, and a total of 652 replica weapons. Coordination between the Public Prosecutor's Office and other technical departments allowed for more exhaustive monitoring of criminal gangs.
Clearance levels reached an unprecedented percentage, managing to identify the alleged perpetrators in 99% of the homicides that occurred. The progress of the legal proceedings shows that 46% of the cases initiated for these crimes already have a final court ruling. Experts consider that the lower circulation of weaponry and the effectiveness of investigations were key factors in achieving these final numbers.
The close of 2025 places Córdoba in a favorable statistical situation within the national map due to the notable drop in lethal violence. The data show that, although more organized criminality has receded, the challenges regarding family relationships persist for society. The final balance presents a scenario of greater protection for residents by moving away from the historic peaks of danger of past times.
