The governor of Córdoba, Martín Llaryora, contacted his counterpart in Chubut, Ignacio Torres, to express the province's solidarity and offer assistance in the face of the serious forest fires that are affecting that part of the Patagonian region.
The province ordered the immediate deployment of a water bomber plane and a helicopter, with specialized personnel and the logistics required for the operation of both aircraft.

In addition, 63 volunteer firefighters from Córdoba will join to reinforce the firefighting efforts.
Córdoba sends an amphibious water bomber plane to Chubut
The amphibious water bomber plane has a discharge capacity of 3,100,000 liters of water, foam, or retardant.
Among its features, greater effectiveness in initial attack and in the construction of containment lines stands out.
In addition, it has very good maneuverability in complex terrain, with proven capability to operate in narrow valleys, mountain ranges, and areas that are difficult to access.
The aircraft has stability at low speed and low altitude, favoring precise drops and making it suitable for strong initial attack tactics.
This water bomber plane, because it has nearby reloading, can complete 5 to 10 drops per hour and can operate from simple, short runways and can operate from dispersed or unprepared bases, increasing territorial coverage.
Helicopter
The AS350 B3 helicopter is one of the most effective light platforms for fighting forest fires, with a discharge capacity of up to 1,000 liters.
Its performance at altitude, maneuverability, and versatility make it a key tool for initial attack, support for ground crews, and complex tactical operations.
This helicopter is one of the lightest and most agile on the market. It allows operations in ravines, areas that are difficult to access, and mountainous environments, while maintaining control and stability.
It is ideal for rapid initial attack, guidance of aerial efforts, and work close to the fire front.
Because of its features, it is used for operations in sierras, mountain chains, and high-altitude areas, where other helicopters lose performance, and it is ideal for precise drops on active hotspots, control lines, and the protection of homes.
Firefighters
The volunteer firefighters departed this Friday for the town of El Hoyo, where the operations base will be established to assist with a large-scale forest fire.
The contingent will travel in 17 4x4 pickup trucks, which will depart from the Alta Gracia Fire Station and other points in the province, covering more than 1,700 kilometers (1,056 miles) to the affected area.
The mission will have an initial duration of 10 days, with the possibility of being extended according to the evolution of the incident.
Fire Stations of Córdoba
The firefighters who are part of the deployment belong to the fire stations of Villa Allende, Valle Hermoso, Villa Las Rosas, San José de la Dormida, Villa Ciudad de América, Villa de Soto, San Marcos Sierras, Capilla del Monte, Tanti, Unquillo, Malagueño, La Calera, Berrotarán, and Los Cóndores.
Of all the personnel deployed, 28 firefighters are part of the Technical Disaster Response Team (ETAC), 12 belong to the Córdoba Volunteer Firefighters Federation, 12 to the Córdoba Mountain Firefighters Group, and 8 to the Provincial Fire Management Plan.
The operation is coordinated by three firefighters from the Risk Management Secretariat of the Provincial Ministry of Security.
Highly trained personnel
This is highly trained personnel who are prepared to intervene in extreme risk scenarios, with complex topographies and very tall vegetation typical of the mountain range area, which includes forests with larch specimens over 15 meters (49.2 feet).
The contingent includes specialists in chainsaws, pump operators, and drivers trained for driving in mountain areas.
They also carry full personal protective equipment, tools, food, and supplies for firefighting, including pumping equipment, five kilometers (3.1 miles) of hose lines, chainsaws, blowers, and digging tools.
The firefighters from Córdoba have extensive experience in large-scale forest fires.
In recent years, they have taken part in operations in Los Alerces National Park, Villa Mascardi, El Manso, Río Pico, Nahuel Huapi, and San Martín de los Andes.
