The concessionaire Caminos de las Sierras confirmed that starting on Saturday, December 27, a new increase will be applied to tolls in Córdoba. The measure will directly impact residents of La Calera who must travel daily through the only urban toll in the metropolitan area. The value of manual payment at the booth will undergo a 50% increase, going from $2,000 to $3,000 to discourage the use of cash.

The basic rate will rise by 29%, going from the current $1,300 to $1,677, according to details provided by the concessionaire in its official statement today. Users enrolled in the Telepase system will pay between $1,174 and $1,593 depending on the number of monthly crossings made. This scheme will proportionally affect residents of La Calera, who have had a 30% preferential benefit since last July.
Inhabitants of that city currently pay a reduced rate of $455 thanks to the discount in force for those who use the dynamic system. The general adjustment will raise that base amount, making travel to the capital more expensive for those who cross the barrier for work-related reasons. It is an additional burden for taxpayers who live in an area where the booth technically operates as an internal customs post.
