The procedure took place at the intersection of Pasaje Los Miquillos and National Route 60, within the jurisdiction of Villa Gutiérrez, in the Ischilín department.
Córdoba: detienen a dos hombres con 500 kilos de carne proveniente de faena ilegal. The intervention was triggered when officers from the Northeast Rural Patrol Directorate intercepted a Ford Ranger pickup truck in which two men aged 37 and 50 were traveling.
When proceeding to search the vehicle, the uniformed officers found a load of half a ton of deboned beef.
The most alarming aspect for the authorities was the precariousness of the transport: the merchandise was being transported without any sanitary measures or cold chain, which constitutes a serious risk to public health if it had reached the consumption circuit.
In addition to the meat, the police seized a saw and a butcher-type knife, items that reinforce the hypothesis of a recent clandestine slaughter.

Given the lack of documentation proving the origin and traceability of the animals, both occupants were immediately arrested.
The Police launched an investigation to determine the origin of the cattle and whether the incident is related to reports of cattle rustling in fields in the area.
The detainees were placed at the disposal of the On-Call Misdemeanor Judge of Deán Funes, charged with violating Provincial Law 1,326. From the rural security force, authorities recalled that these controls will be intensified to protect both the assets of producers and the food safety of the population.
