The Catholic University of Córdoba will host the 18th edition of the Latin America and Caribbean Internet Governance Forum on November 5 and 6, 2025. The event will take place at the Juan Carlos Scannone S.J. central building, located at Obispo Trejo 323, and will feature full-day activities. The initiative aims to promote a multistakeholder exchange among academia, civil society, the private sector, technical actors, and governments.
The forum is recognized as the main regional meeting point to discuss the direction of the Internet, with debates aimed at strengthening cooperation and innovation in the digital environment. The 2025 edition will focus on promoting an agenda with the participation of different sectors and perspectives. The organization highlighted that the central objective will be to foster constructive dialogues to strengthen digital policies aimed at development.
The organizers anticipate a broad call to bring together diverse perspectives and advance agreements that guarantee an open, secure, and accessible Internet. Participants will have the opportunity to present ideas, share experiences, and evaluate emerging regulatory frameworks. In addition, the forum will seek to promote principles of transparency, democratic participation, and respect for essential rights in digital environments.

How to register and participate in the event
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., in a hybrid format, allowing attendance both in person and virtually. Those who choose the remote modality will be able to follow the sessions through the forum's official YouTube channel, where conferences and plenaries will be broadcast. In-person attendees will have access to connectivity, rest areas, and refreshments during both days.
Registration is already available through a digital form, allowing participants to reserve a spot for either modality. The organization encourages early participation due to the relevance of the event and the interest it usually generates in the technology and academic community. Meanwhile, the committee also emphasizes that participation is free of charge, promoting a broad regional call.
This edition will have Civic House as the host entity, an organization dedicated to promoting social and civic uses of technology in Latin America. The institution was selected through an open process coordinated by the Multistakeholder Committee, with support from Colnodo, which acts as Technical Secretariat. The Catholic University of Córdoba will serve as the venue, providing spaces for conferences, workshops, and collaborative activities.

Thematic areas and program focus
The forum will feature twelve parallel talks and four plenary sessions, addressing topics related to universal access, meaningful connectivity, and cybersecurity. There will also be debates on human rights, data governance, artificial intelligence, and digital cooperation, in a global context that demands modern and consensual regulatory frameworks. Since 2008, the regional Internet Governance Forum has been held annually in different countries such as Uruguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, and Chile. Its mission is to consolidate discussion spaces where all stakeholders can engage in dialogue on equal terms to define principles and recommendations. The continuity of the forum reflects the growing interest in inclusive and sustainable digital policies.
