28-year-old man dies after being sucked into a hopper in a field south of Córdoba

A 28-year-old rural worker died in the early hours of Thursday in a field south of Córdoba, during a peanut harvest. The incident occurred at the La Marucha establishment, 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) from the town of Washington, on National Route 7. The victim was identified as José Ignacio Pereyra, a local resident with experience in agricultural work.

According to police sources, the young man was operating a hopper connected to a tractor when, for reasons under investigation, he was pulled into the mechanism. The impact was immediate and there was no possibility of medical assistance: he died instantly due to the injuries sustained. The body was taken to the judicial morgue for the required autopsy, and a case was opened to determine responsibility.
