Matías Gvozdenovich requested the suspension of the Trans Childhoods Congress at the Provincial University, warning that the State must not induce minors to make irreversible decisions. He stated that the event doesn't represent the general interest and displays an ideological bias that disregards constitutional principles and international commitments to child protection. He clarified that debating identities is valid, but never under frameworks that could violate children's rights or expose them to unjustified physical or psychological risks.
He argued that the Province must prioritize children's rights and not fund activities that could promote hormonal or surgical interventions without scientific consensus or biological maturity. Gvozdenovich recalled that pediatric organizations and international specialists emphasize the need for extreme caution in invasive treatments for minors, particularly when such treatments may cause irreversible effects on their development. He stressed that childhood can't be a field for experimentation or ideological dispute, but rather a sphere that demands firm regulations and universal principles of protection.
He also expressed support for Gerardo Grosso, who was judicially restricted after questioning these initiatives, and maintained that freedom of expression must not be restricted when defending the best interests of the child. He warned that censoring critical voices demonstrates intolerance in the debate and reinforces the need for a serious, open discussion without political or activist pressure. "We must protect them, not ideologize them," he stated, insisting that the State's role is to prevent harm, not to enable controversial practices involving minors.
