Cordoban solidarity: 140 blankets were made for people experiencing homelessness

It was in the synagogue of the capital city. Rabbi Marcelo Polakoff said that last year 120 were made

This Tuesday, a new edition of a charity campaign aimed at helping people in vulnerable situations concluded in Córdoba. The activity took place at the city's synagogue, where 140 blankets were made. Seventy-four women and an 11-year-old girl participated, joining together nearly 10,000 knitted squares.

Rabbi Marcelo Polakoff, a community leader, specified that last year, 120 blankets had been made. This year, the number surpassed that mark with greater participation from volunteers. The event was organized with recreational activities that accompanied the sewing work.

The blankets were delivered this Wednesday to Fundación Córdoba Voluntaria. From there, they were responsible for distributing all the crafted materials to people experiencing homelessness.

Charitable delivery and community work

This activity took place as part of the "Un Abrigo al Corazón" initiative, a charity campaign held in Córdoba. Here, the community gathers to knit blankets that are later donated to people in need of warmth. It is an initiative that combines charitable action with recreational activities such as music, humor, and raffles.

The quilts will be distributed to people spending the winter on the streets, according to the organizers. Fundación Córdoba Voluntaria provides ongoing support to those who do not have a roof to shelter them. Their work includes nightly rounds and receiving donations throughout the year.

The initiative to make blankets arose as a concrete way to help those most in need during this time of year. The campaign also became a meeting point for neighbors, family, and friends. These types of activities reflect the Córdoba community's commitment to supporting the most disadvantaged.
