'He used me, he's gay and he used to beat me': Mariana Nannis's most harrowing account of Caniggia

In an interview with Ángel de Brito on Bondi Live, Mariana Nannis made very serious accusations against her ex-husband, Claudio Paul Caniggia. She directly called him "the abuser" and revealed that she endured years of physical, psychological, and sexual violence while they were together.

Nannis stated that the former player is under investigation in a gender-based violence case, although, according to her, the case has not progressed because Caniggia "bought the judge." She also claimed that the violent episodes occurred in different countries, not only in Argentina.

"There are women who commit suicide, but I said enough"

She recalled that the violence began from the start of their cohabitation, when they had just moved in together. "I used to call my mother because I was homesick, and he threatened to kill me when he saw what had come up on the phone bill," she recounted starkly. She stated that many times she was left alone, while Caniggia devoted himself to traveling with women.

One of the most shocking moments was when an escort called their house in Portugal. Mariana pretended to be the footballer's sister and discovered that the woman was traveling with him while she was taking care of their three children.

"Claudio is homosexual, he used me as a cover"

Nannis made a statement that left everyone stunned: "Claudio is homosexual, he's really gay. He used me. I was his cover." The phrase resonated strongly and sparked a wide debate.

Additionally, Nannis maintained that Caniggia always hid information about his assets from her. She claimed that she is unaware of much of the property her ex-husband had and that currently he claims to own nothing, leaving her without any financial protection.

The legal conflict with the former footballer remains unsolved, as do the family tensions, which have deepened due to Mariana's poor relationship with her son  Alexander and his partner, Melody Luz. Everything indicates that this story is far from over.
