Governor Alfredo Cornejo announced the bidding process for the comprehensive transformation of almost 16 kilometers (9.94 miles) of Acceso Sur, one of the busiest corridors in Greater Mendoza. The project, which is part of a structural road investment plan, includes expansions, repaving, new bridges, and logistical improvements.
All financed with the Industrial Promotion Compensation Funds, which allows a large-scale project without affecting the province's current resources.
Transparent and competitive bidding process
The Government publishes the draft bid specifications to receive suggestions from companies and ensure equal conditions. This methodology—already applied in other projects—has made it possible to obtain more bids and prices lower than those officially budgeted. For Cornejo, this dynamic shows that an open and well-structured bidding process reduces costs and improves the final quality of the project.
Direct impact on Luján de Cuyo and Greater Mendoza
Mayor Esteban Allasino recalled that the department has been undergoing a road transformation process for more than a decade. In road infrastructure alone, Luján received investments exceeding 200 million dollars in ten years, an exceptional level in the country.
The new intervention will enable a network of east-west connections without entering Acceso Sur, anticipating future demand and accompanying urban and productive growth.
