Countdown: Rosario Central is expected to present Di María next week
After his participation in the Club World Cup with Benfica, Fideo is finalizing the details to return to the club where he was born
Ángel Di Maríais spending his last days of rest before sealing his much-anticipatedreturn to Rosario Central, after nearly twenty years of a career in Europe. The world champion, who was a standout for Benfica in the Club World Cup with four penalty goals (including one against Boca), is enjoying a vacation in Miami with his family while finalizing the logistical details of his arrival.
The arrival in Rosario is expected to take place over the weekend on a private flight, and the official presentation is scheduled for Monday or Tuesday in the Centenario Hall of the Gigante de Arroyito, at an event organized from Buenos Aires. No major shows, but with the solemnity that the return of an idol who made history entails.

If the TMS (Transfer Matching System) clearance is completed on time and in proper form, Fideo could wear the #11 jersey again the weekend of July 13, when Central hosts Godoy Cruz for the Torneo Clausura. The anticipation is enormous, and a packed stadium is expected for his re-debut.
Meanwhile, Ariel Holan, the Canalla coach, will assess his physical condition in the first training sessions. However, the level shown by the world champion forward in his last tournament with the Portuguese team allows fans to hope to see him in action quickly, especially considering the absences of Santiago López and Enzo Copetti.

Before Di María's return, Central will play a friendly against Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero at the AFA complex next Friday, July 4.
Di María spoke about his origins in Rosario
In his farewell to Benfica, Di María spoke with the official channel of the Portuguese club and remembered Ángel Tulio Zof, the coach who gave him his debut at Central.
"In my career I had good moments and when I was down I had coaches who lifted me up. There are several good coaches I've had. But it's Don Ángel Tulio Zof, the one who gave me my debut in the first division, the one who saw me playing in the Rosarina and was the one who spotted me".

"He moved me up from my age group to the first team, to train four days and put me in to play on the weekend. For me, Don Ángel is the person who gave me the opportunity and thanks to him, also, today I am who I am", he concluded.
