LLA requested to summon the Minister of Security Javier Alonso amid new crimes, neighborhood protests, and criticism of the Buenos Aires administration
The social and political pressure on the Kirchnerist governor Axel Kicillof has increased again due to the succession of insecurity incidents recorded in recent months in the Greater Buenos Aires area, while La Libertad Avanza moved forward with a request to question the provincial Security Minister, Javier Alonso, and demand explanations about the strategy deployed by the Executive.
The liberal space presented initiatives in both chambers of the Buenos Aires Legislature for Alonso to provide details on the police "deployment," prevention mechanisms, and resources allocated to combat crime in the province, in response to complaints and marches by neighbors who denounce the abandonment by the Buenos Aires administration.

From La Libertad Avanza, they questioned the lack of public information regarding the security situation and demanded that the minister explain to the Legislature what resources are available, how patrols are organized, and what measures the Buenos Aires administration is taking in response to the increase in neighborhood complaints.
This request comes after a series of episodes that deepened concerns about insecurity. One of the cases that generated the most impact was the murder of David Elías Ojeda Vázquez, the 23-year-old shot during the robbery of his motorcycle in José C. Paz.
After the crime, neighbors and friends marched through the center of the district to demand justice and greater security. The situation also exposed a strong internal conflict within the Buenos Aires Peronism itself, after the Municipality of José C. Paz publicly demanded Kicillof to reinforce security and stated that the provincial Government must assume “total and complete responsibility” in this matter.
Additionally, the controversy over the suspension for 60 days of the new Juvenile Criminal Regime in Buenos Aires territory, ordered by Judge Marta Elba Pascual under alleged influence from the governor, added to the complaints. The magistrate argued that there are currently no necessary devices, professionals, and infrastructure conditions to apply the regulation, which reduced the minimum age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 14 years.
The decision led to new questions against the Buenos Aires Justice and against Kicillof's Government, while various opposition sectors demanded that the Province guarantee the necessary conditions to implement the new system.

Meanwhile, Javier Alonso also came under pressure due to the escalation of insecurity on the streets while the Buenos Aires Government tries to respond to the criticisms with announcements of a supposed incorporation of new personnel, investment in police infrastructure, and "opening" of offices.
However, La Libertad Avanza insisted that the minister must appear before the Legislature and provide explanations to the people about the Province's security policy. With neighborhood protests and criticisms even coming from the Kirchnerism itself, the insecurity crisis heavily impactsKicillof's presidential aspirations.
