The Danish giant Bestseller confirmed its arrival in Argentina with an investment of more than US$30 million to open 30 stores over the next three years. The first stage will begin in Buenos Aires City and includes the creation of up to 400 direct jobs.
The arrival is scheduled for the second half of the year and will mark the formal entry of the Scandinavian group into the Argentine market. Our country is one of the most relevant in Latin America in terms of clothing consumption.
The arrival will begin in Buenos Aires, with the simultaneous opening of three stores in Unicenter, each with a large surface area. In parallel, the company is negotiating new locations in shopping malls and is analyzing street-front stores on strategic avenues such as Santa Fe and Cabildo.

The brands that are coming to the country
The group will enter with three of its international labels:
Jack & Jones, focused on menswear.
Only, aimed at the young female segment.
Balmohk, a brand that will also be part of the initial portfolio in the country.
The strategy aims to position itself quickly in shopping centers and main commercial arteries. This way, the company seeks to replicate the model that it is already developing in Europe and other emerging markets.
Expansion to the interior and local production
After the initial stage in Buenos Aires City, the plan includes a second phase of expansion toward the interior of the country. Rosario and Córdoba are among the first cities planned for territorial deployment.
In addition, the company is analyzing the possibility of producing part of its garments in Argentina, especially cotton products such as T-jerseys and jeans. If this materializes, it would not only mean expanding the impact on direct and indirect employment, but also integrating local suppliers into its value chain.

The possible local manufacturing scheme would make it possible to reduce logistics costs and strengthen domestic supply. The investment would take place in a context in which various multinationals are once again looking at the country as an investment destination.
A sign that Argentina is taking off
Bestseller's arrival represents a significant move within the textile and retail sector. The decision to invest more than US$30 million over a three-year period and to create hundreds of direct jobs serves as a concrete sign of confidence in the Argentine market.

In a scenario where macroeconomic stability and pro-market reforms are beginning to change business expectations, the entry of major international players is once again putting the country on the foreign investment radar.
The opening of 30 stores will not only expand the offering for consumers, but will also boost the retail sector in the cities where the stores are established.
