The ruling represents a setback for California's Democratic government, which is currently led by Gavin Newsom
Compartir:
A federal judge ruled Monday that Democrats in California can't enforce a law that prohibits Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers from wearing masks and that requires them to show their faces while carrying out their duties.
Judge Christina A. Snyder, of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, ruled that the California law discriminates against the federal government by applying only to federal law enforcement and violates the power granted to it by the Constitution's Supremacy Clause.
The legislative measure had been signed into law by Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom in September. But, as United States Attorney General Bill Essayli indicated, California "doesn't have and can't have jurisdiction" over federal agents since that is a matter that pertains to the national government.

The left harasses immigration enforcement agents
According to the Department of Homeland Security, ICE agents are currently facing assaults, doxxing, and an increase of approximately 8,000% in death threats, with left-wing terrorist groups creating databases with the goal of revealing photos of the officers and publishing their names and locations.
In cities such as Minneapolis, ICE Watch groups follow federal immigration agents to nearly every location where arrests occur, taking photos of them and of their license plates to alert the public to their whereabouts.
In addition to Minneapolis, Los Angeles during the summer became the center of aggressive immigration raids that attracted violent activists who blocked the city's main highways, set cars on fire, and threw concrete blocks at law enforcement.
President Donald Trump replied to the unrest by sending 4,000 National Guard soldiers and 700 Marines to restore law and order in the city.
