The journalist faced controversy over his relationship with Luciana Elbusto and asked for respect for his family

After weeks of rumors, Diego Brancatelli decided to speak. The exposure of supposedly compromising chats with journalist Luciana Elbusto triggered a media scandal that forced him to break his silence.

Although at first he denied any kind of connection with Elbusto, the situation took another turn when she publicly confirmed the relationship. Brancatelli, married to Cecilia Insinga—mother of his two children—acknowledged mistakes and took responsibility.

Brancatelli admitted his mistake and asked for privacy

The C5N host chose the program A la Barbarossa (Telefe) to give his testimony. He clarified that he prioritized family privacy, but felt it was necessary to make some clarifications.

"Obviously I'm not well. I know I made mistakes, that I hurt people I love. I didn't kill anyone, I didn't steal, this is a moral issue," he said firmly.

He acknowledged that his main intention was to protect his children. He asked for consideration toward them, reminding that they are minors exposed to public comments. "This got out of hand. I don't want to keep feeding this show," he expressed.

Regarding his relationship with Insinga, he was clear: "I love her, I loved her, and I never thought otherwise. She is an extraordinary woman. Whatever needs to be solved, we'll do it at home."

His partner's reaction and the alleged chats

He surprised by referring to his wife's attitude toward the scandal: "Cecilia reacted in a way that left me speechless. I learn a lot from her and our family. I've already apologized, there were hours of sincere conversation."

He also clarified that the leaked chats were fake. At first, he decided not to speak publicly, but given the media escalation, he considered it necessary to present his version. "When the three of us talked, it was with the intention of protecting our families and avoiding what ended up happening," he recounted.

Luciana Elbusto also gave her version

Meanwhile, Luciana Elbusto spoke on the programs Puro Show (El Trece) and Intrusos (América TV). She confirmed the relationship and assured that she didn't wish to harm anyone. "Everyone has a family and knows what's best. No one does anything to hurt," she declared.

Regarding the bond, she maintained that it was a friendship with blurred boundaries. "What happened between us stays there. I'm not going to say who I sleep with or details of my private life," she said firmly.

Elbusto also showed hurt: "By protecting him, I was putting myself in a bad position. Now I need to take care of myself."

Although she didn't want to delve into feelings, she admitted that this episode could have been a definitive closure. "Everyone has to review their choices. I have to continue my life," she stated.

Before saying goodbye, she delivered a scathing phrase: "No one enters where they're not allowed."
