After weeks of rumors, Diego Brancatelli decided to speak. The exposure of supposedly compromising chats with journalist Luciana Elbusto triggered a media scandal that forced him to break his silence.
Although at first he denied any kind of connection with Elbusto, the situation took another turn when she publicly confirmed the relationship. Brancatelli, married to Cecilia Insinga—mother of his two children—acknowledged mistakes and took responsibility.
Brancatelli admitted his mistake and asked for privacy
The C5N host chose the program A la Barbarossa (Telefe) to give his testimony. He clarified that he prioritized family privacy, but felt it was necessary to make some clarifications.
"Obviously I'm not well. I know I made mistakes, that I hurt people I love. I didn't kill anyone, I didn't steal, this is a moral issue," he said firmly.
He acknowledged that his main intention was to protect his children. He asked for consideration toward them, reminding that they are minors exposed to public comments. "This got out of hand. I don't want to keep feeding this show," he expressed.
Regarding his relationship with Insinga, he was clear: "I love her, I loved her, and I never thought otherwise. She is an extraordinary woman. Whatever needs to be solved, we'll do it at home."
His partner's reaction and the alleged chats
He surprised by referring to his wife's attitude toward the scandal: "Cecilia reacted in a way that left me speechless. I learn a lot from her and our family. I've already apologized, there were hours of sincere conversation."
