On a day marked by joy and the political consolidation of the ruling party, Diego Santilli, national deputy-elect for La Libertad Avanza in the province of Buenos Aires, fulfilled his campaign promise and shaved his head live after the legislative elections on October 26. The former deputy mayor of Buenos Aires City had promised to cut his hair if he managed to reverse the adverse trend and emerge victorious in a district historically dominated by kirchnerismo.
The episode took place on Monday, October 27 on the streaming channel Carajo, during the broadcast of La Misa del Gordo Dan, the program where the promise had been made weeks earlier. There, Santilli was shaved by barber Darío Del Casale, known on social media as El Tano de Il Figaro, in a relaxed scene that became a symbol of the libertarian triumph.

"If we turn it around, I'll shave my head", Santilli had said during the campaign, referring to the challenge of winning in Buenos Aires territory. The phrase, born amid laughter and cheers, became a rallying cry. The nod also alluded to José Luis Espert, economist and libertarian leader who originally was to head the ticket, but had to withdraw his candidacy. In that context, Santilli popularized the slogan "to vote for the redhead, mark the bald one", combining humor and political strategy.
