Diego Valenzuela announced the deregulation of Uber in Tres de Febrero

The initiative aims to promote innovation and expand mobility options in the municipality

Libertarian mayor Diego Valenzuela announced together with Uber the deregulation of the transportation system and the free operation of the application in Tres de Febrero. The initiative seeks to foster innovation, expand mobility options, and adapt to the needs of those who reside in the municipality.

We are proud that Uber chose us to promote fast, transparent, and safe travel for our senior citizens”, Valenzuela emphasized during the announcement.

The municipal chief stressed that the measure is part of a broader plan for deregulation and modernization, designed to simplify citizens' lives: “We have eliminated bureaucratic obstacles, and with this new ordinance, we promote greater freedom of mobility through new applications".

"We have also eliminated the Road Tax, reduced taxes, and offer free permits to boost employment”, added the mayor and La Libertad Avanza candidate.

More options for seniors on Uber

The announcement was made at a meeting with senior residents, who were able to learn about two new features recently added to the app: Uber Seniors and Simple Mode. These tools are specially designed to simplify the digital experience and offer more accessible and intuitive mobility to older adults, who represent 21% of the district's population.

Uber Seniors allows older users to create an adapted profile, with a simplified interface, the ability to save frequent destinations, and receive remote assistance from family members or caregivers without losing autonomy. Meanwhile, Simple Mode offers the same usual app experience, but with a cleaner design, enlarged text, intuitive navigation, and fewer steps, making it easier to use for both seniors and any resident who prefers a more straightforward app.

Eli Frías, Head of Operations for Uber in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, welcomed the measure: “We welcome the decision of the Tres de Febrero municipality to deregulate the transportation system and incorporate platforms. This measure demonstrates that it is possible to consider regulatory frameworks that address the characteristics and mobility needs of each municipality, respecting their operation and the preferences of both users and driver partners”.

With this initiative, Tres de Febrero is consolidating itself as a pioneering municipality in the deregulation of transportation applications, promoting the autonomy of seniors and freedom of choice for all citizens. The deregulation of Uber not only expands mobility options, but also reinforces the municipality's commitment to innovation and modernization policies that directly benefit the daily lives of its residents.
