Bandai Namco and studio Media.Vision officially announced the second downloadable content (DLC) pack for Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Titled Additional Digimon & Episode Pack 2: GAKU-RAN, the new content will arrive in January 2026 and is part of the expansion plan with which the company seeks to consolidate the game in the long term.
This second DLC will add at least five new Mega-level Digimon, all belonging to the popular BAN-TYO group, as well as an additional story episode starring Hiroko Sagisaka, a supporting character who will gain greater depth in this expansion.
The content will be included at no additional cost for those who have the Deluxe, Ultimate, or Season Pass editions, although it will also be available for individual purchase.
New Bancho Digimon and expansion of the playable roster
The central focus of this expansion will be the addition of new Bancho Digimon, a subseries recognized within the Digimon universe for its rebellious aesthetic and its inspiration in youth leadership figures. So far, the arrival of:
BanchoLeomon
BanchoStingmon
BanchoLillymon
BanchoMamemon
BanchoGolemon

However, BanchoLeomon is already part of the base game, so the developers have not yet clarified which will be the fifth new Digimon that will complete the pack, a detail that has caused speculation and debate among fans of the franchise.
Beyond the aesthetic aspect, these Digimon will introduce exclusive abilities and new synergies, expanding strategic options both in single-player and in cooperative and competitive modes.
A new episode to deepen the story
In addition to the playable content, the DLC will include an additional story episode focused on Hiroko Sagisaka, Inori's classmate. According to what the developers have revealed, the goal is to expand the background of the supporting characters, providing greater emotional and narrative depth to the game's universe.
This decision reinforces Media.Vision's intention not to limit expansions solely to new Digimon, but also to deepen the story and the relationships between characters, an aspect that is increasingly valued by the community.

Long-term strategy and community reaction
The announcement was received with positive expectations by players, especially among those who already have the special editions of the game. The confirmation of a third DLC planned for later in 2026 reinforces the idea that Digimon Story: Time Stranger will be supported by sustained updates over time.
This staggered content strategy is aligned with a consolidated trend in the industry:maintaining an active community through regular expansions that broaden both gameplay and narrative, without fragmenting the main experience.
With new Digimon, new episodes, and a clear release schedule, Bandai Namco aims to consolidate Digimon Story: Time Stranger as one of the most relevant titles in the franchise in recent years.
