The President of the United States mentioned that he has a strong sense of disappointment with the Russian leader and warned the Chinese leader
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, expressed his deep disappointment with the Russian president,Vladimir Putin, for not reaching a peace agreement in Ukraine after their recent summit in Alaska.
In an interview given this Tuesday, Trump stated: "I'm very disappointed with President Putin, I can say that. We had a great relationship." However, he did not announce specific consequences for Russia, despite having set a two-week deadline to reach an agreement, which expires this week.
Trump also dismissed being concerned about a possible alliance between Russia and China, even though Putin met with Chinese president Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday, just before a major military parade. "I'm not worried at all," Trump said, assuring that the United States has "the most powerful military in the world" and that it would be a grave mistake for any country to face the United States militarily.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that the Trump administration is considering various options in response to Russia's conduct after the summit.
According to Bessent, far from reducing its hostilities, Putin has intensified the bombings in Ukraine in a "despicable" manner. He added that, with Trump, "all options are on the table."
Since the meeting in Alaska, and a subsequent call between Trump, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy and European leaders, Russia has not shown signs of complying with what was agreed. Zelenskiy stated in a recent speech that Russia is increasing its military presence in certain areas of the front, and added: "Putin refuses to be forced into peace."

Regarding China, Trump has rejected suggestions that the growing cooperation between Beijing, Moscow, and Pyongyang represents a threat to the United States. "China needs us more than we need them," he declared from the Oval Office, emphasizing that he keeps "a good relationship" with Xi Jinping.
This comes on the eve of China's "Victory Day" parade, attended by Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. International observers interpreted this event as a defiant message toward the West, amid the diplomatic isolation these leaders are facing.
Trump, however, downplayed the impact of this trilateral alliance, insisting that the United States remains the dominant power both militarily and economically. He also defended his tariff policy against China, arguing that they are necessary to protect the interests of American industry, although he acknowledged that they have had a diplomatic cost.

In a final comment, Trump sent an ironic message directed at Xi Jinping, Putin, and Kim Jong Un through the social network Truth.
"I hope President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a great and lasting day of celebration. Please, give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, while they conspire against the United States of America."
This comment has been interpreted as a veiled criticism of China's stance during the war in Ukraine. Beijing has avoided condemning the Russian invasion and has been accused by the West of supporting Moscow through the supply of dual-use materials and the purchase of Russian oil, something China denies.
