Donald Trump was received in a majestic manner during his official visit to the United Kingdom.

During his second State visit to the United Kingdom, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, was received with a lavish ceremony by King Charles III and other members of the royal family at Windsor Castle.

On a day marked by splendor, diplomacy, and strategic interests, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived in covered carriages due to the rain, and were received in the castle quadrangle, where a military inspection took place on impeccably prepared grass.

Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Catherine were present, and also actively participated in the welcome. There were cordial moments between the King and Trump during the military parade, including a joking comment about the proximity of a sword.

The President showed great interest during a visit to St. George's Chapel and praised the historical documents on the independence of the United States preserved in the Royal Collection.

The visit also included private meetings, such as an encounter with the Prince and Princess of Wales. In a symbolic gesture, the President laid a floral tribute at the tomb of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Official gifts were exchanged: Trump received a leather volume commemorating the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States and a flag that flew at Buckingham Palace during his inauguration in 2025. Melania received a handbag by Anya Hindmarch and a silver bowl by Northern Irish artist Cara Murphy.

King Charles received a replica of President Eisenhower's sword, symbolizing the military alliance between both countries, while Queen Camilla received a Tiffany brooch with gold, diamonds, and rubies.

Queen Camilla fully participated in the visit after recovering from acute sinusitis that had prevented her from attending the Duchess of Kent's funeral days earlier. Among the members of the U.S. delegation, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff stood out, and they also participated in the carriage procession.

The event brought together about 1,300 personnel from the Army, Navy, and Royal Air Force, forming the largest honor guard ever organized for a State visit. The magnitude of the ceremony aims to strengthen ties with the United States in a key geopolitical context, especially regarding support for Ukraine and NATO.

Although everything took place in private venues such as Windsor and the Prime Minister's official residence at Chequers, there were leftist protests in both London and Windsor.

President Trump and British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, witnessed an aerial parade by the Red Arrows, although the weather forced the cancellation of the F-35 aircraft's participation.

There was also a massive technological investment of 31 billion pounds sterling (about $39.2 billion) announced (mainly from Microsoft), aimed at artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and nuclear energy. Google (Alphabet) confirmed an additional investment of 5 billion pounds (about $6.3 billion), and both countries will sign an agreement to boost nuclear development.

Although it was expected to discuss the removal of the 25% tariff on British steel exports to the United States, this issue was put on hold.

During his speech, Trump highlighted the need to preserve the values of the English-speaking world, extolling the heritage of freedom, law, and expression that, according to him, comes from the British Empire, in a veiled criticism of British laws on social media censorship and freedom of expression.

The visit will culminate with a gala banquet in St. George's Hall, where speeches will be delivered and a menu symbolizing the special relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States will be served.
