The United States Secretary of Homeland Security under the administration of Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, will arrive in Argentina this Sunday with major news for the citizens of our country.
According to numerous sources, during her scheduled meeting with President Javier Milei this Monday, and with the Minister of Homeland Security Patricia Bullrich, Noem will sign a memorandum of understanding with the goal of reinstating Argentina in the Visa Waiver Program.
This will be possible thanks to the excellent relationship between leaders Javier Milei and Donald Trump. Under this regime, entry into the United States is permitted for tourism or business purposes for a period of up to 90 days, without the need to obtain a visa.
This gesture by President Trump comes in the context of his toughened campaign against illegal immigration, which also includes stricter requirements for legal entry and deportations for those who enter irregularly. Meanwhile, on Saturday, during a lunch at the restaurant in La Rural after Milei's speech, sources from the economic sector confirmed that a trade agreement between the Republican leader and the Argentine president is practically finalized.

Although the details of the new Visa Waiver agreement are not yet known, sources from the Casa Rosada indicated that it could have similarities with the one signed in 1996 between then-President Carlos Menem and the administration of Bill Clinton, which was rendered void in 2002 after Argentina's severe institutional and economic crisis.
