President Javier Milei entered the La Rural grounds in Palermo to lead the official opening ceremony of the 137th Rural Exhibition, in an atmosphere filled with anticipation for the announcements aimed at the agricultural sector.
An hour later, after listening to the words of the president of the Argentine Rural Society, Nicolás Pino, the head of state took the floor from the stage and confirmed what had been anticipated: a permanent reduction in export duties.
"Starting today, export duties on poultry and beef will be reduced from 6.75% to 5%; export duties on corn from 12% to 9.5%; export duties on sorghum from 12% to 9.5%; export duties on sunflower from 7.5% to 5.5% and 4%, and also export duties on soybeans, from 33% to 26% and on soybean byproducts from 31% to 24.5%," the president detailed, fulfilling what was expected.

Milei indicated that this measure "results in a 20% reduction in export duties for the grain chains and a 26% reduction in export duties for the livestock and meat chain, which will be permanent and aims to boost the countryside, the most productive sector in the economy and one that has lost many jobs in the last 20 years."
Additionally, the President clarified that "it also includes the temporary reductions we announced for wheat and barley, which will also be permanent. I repeat, these reductions are permanent and will not be reversed as long as I am in office."
