The National Government reported an attack against the Archive of the National Secretariat of Public Administration, located at the headquarters of the Ecuadorian Air Force in Quito. An individual entered in the early hours of March 21 and attempted to set fire to the entity's furniture.

Thanks to the quick action of the Armed Forces and the security team, the man was caught in the act and handed over to the competent authorities. The archive's documentation was not damaged, as confirmed by Marissa Péndola, General Administrative Secretary of the Presidency.

The General Secretariat of Communication released images of the affected furniture, such as partially burned armchairs. The incident caused concern, as these archives hold institutional documents and sworn asset declarations of former public officials.

The State Attorney General's Office initiated an investigation to determine the motive behind the attempted sabotage. Although the detainee's links have not yet been revealed, it is not ruled out that the attack responds to the interests of socialist groups seeking to destabilize the Government.

The Executive categorically rejected these criminal actions that threaten institutional integrity. It also reiterated its commitment to transparency by providing all facilities to the Attorney General's Office to identify the material and intellectual perpetrators.

To ensure institutional security, Péndola announced that surveillance at strategic points of the state apparatus will be increased. New measures will be adopted to protect public personnel and the integrity of state assets.

This new attempt at sabotage adds to other recent incidents, such as the car bomb explosion outside the Litoral Penitentiary and the oil spill in Esmeraldas, described as "provoked." The possible coordination of these events raises suspicions about an orchestrated agenda from sectors aligned with radical socialism.

In a national context where security is a priority, the firmness of Daniel Noboa's Government in the face of destabilization attempts has been evident. The administration reaffirms its commitment to legality, order, and the defense of the state's documentary heritage.

The joint action of the Armed Forces and the surveillance system prevented greater damage. The inter-institutional support reinforces the governmental strategy to face challenges to institutional integrity.

While judicial investigation advances are awaited, the public has been assured that state information remains safeguarded. The message of stability prevails against the chaos sought by certain sectors.

The attempt to attack the National Archive was neutralized in time, showing the Government's reaction capability and its determination to protect institutional integrity. Everything indicates that some sectors aligned with socialism do not rule out extreme methods to undermine democratic order.
