The saga that kept Estudiantes de La Plata fans on edge has reached its final point. Eduardo Domínguez will continue as Pincha's head coach until December 31, 2027. The contract renewal was finalized after weeks of negotiations, tensions, and reports that linked him with a possible departure.
The agreement was sealed together with president Juan Sebastián Verón, who decided to make a major investment to retain the 47-year-old coach. One of the key points that unlocked the deal was a salary increase, which was the coaching staff's central demand during the talks.
Domínguez, who arrived at the club in March 2023, has accumulated five titles: 2023 Copa Argentina, 2024 Copa de la Liga, 2024 Trofeo de Campeones, 2025 Torneo Clausura, and 2025 Trofeo de Campeones. His end to the year was decisive, since in one week he won two trophies and consolidated a cycle that went from being on the verge of breaking up to becoming one of the most successful in recent Argentine soccer.
