After more than ten years defending River's jersey, Milton Casco will embark on a new path in his career. The 37-year-old full-back, a key piece in Marcelo Gallardo's teams and a symbol of a glorious era for Millonario, agreed to join Atlético Nacional from Colombia, a club where he will arrive as a free agent and will sign for one season.
The news was reported in advance by journalist Germán García Grova, who indicated that the player will join the Verdolaga side once his vacation ends. Although Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata and Newell's Old Boys, clubs where he previously played, showed interest in bringing him back, Casco chose to experience his first international spell after 16 years of a career in Argentine soccer.

Beyond this farewell, the defender could meet again with the Núñez club sooner than expected. Verdolaga will play the preliminary round of the Copa Sudamericana against Millonarios and, if it advances, there is a possibility that it will face River at some stage of the tournament.
