The full-back spoke about his time at the club, the red card in the Libertadores final, and his desire to return to Colombian soccer
Frank Fabra is beginning to close his long cycle wearing the Boca jersey. After nine years at the club, where he won eight titles, the left back will not renew his contract, which expires in December, and will leave as a free agent in search of continuity and new challenges.
In this context, in an interview with Colombian outlet Win Sports, the 34-year-old defender looked back on his time with Xeneize, marked by great football moments, but also by an episode that changed his relationship with the fans: his sending off in the 2023 Copa Libertadores final against Fluminense, after slapping an opponent.
"In football, you have to know how to get back up. It happened to me in the Libertadores final, where I made a mistake... Unfortunately, I couldn't keep showing what I really love to do, which is play football. But the road is long and I know there will be a rematch soon," Fabra reflected.

Aware that his time at Boca is coming to an end, the Colombian admitted that he wants to return to his country to continue his career. "There are many interesting teams: first Cali (Deportivo Cali), also where I played, Medellín (DIM)... Nacional (Atlético Nacional)is a big team, I can't name just one," he said when listing possible destinations.
However, a personal story ended up tipping the balance. With emotion, he revealed that his priority would be to wear the Millonarios jersey, the club his father was a fan of. "My dad is a Millonarios fan and he's in heaven... why not give him some joy up there? I don't have anything yet, but I would feel happy to be able to give him that joy," he said, moved.
Fabra arrived at Boca in 2016 from Deportivo Independiente Medellín and quickly became one of the key pieces of the team, thanks to his offensive power and technical precision. However, injuries and inconsistency in performance took him away from the prominence of his early years.

Now, with the decision made and the affection of the Xeneize locker room intact, the Colombian is preparing to close a long-standing cycle and, perhaps, experience his last great professional stage at the club his father always dreamed of seeing him play for.
