The father of Paola Lonzo, the woman around 40 years old who was murdered after being run over by criminals who were fleeing after a robbery in Villa Madero, La Matanza, broke his silence and expressed his anger, desperation, and helplessness in the face of the tragic situation he is experiencing.

"As you can see, there isn't a single police officer, there isn't anyone," he began, speaking to journalists. Lonzo's daughter died instantly after a white Fiat Siena, stolen minutes earlier, struck her while the thieves were fleeing along with a Peugeot 208 also used in the escape.

For Paola's father, the absence of controls and the lack of police presence in the area are central to the tragedy. "In the end, those who say you have to arm yourself and defend yourself will be right, because there isn't any other possibility," he warned, reflecting a sentiment that has become common amid the surge of violent robberies and homicides in Buenos Aires province, governed by ultra-Kirchnerist Axel Kicillof.

The criminals who killed his daughter had just robbed a butcher shop located a few blocks from the scene. They were fleeing at high speed when they ran over the motorcycle on which Paola was traveling with her companion, who suffered multiple fractures and remains hospitalized. After the impact, the suspects continued their escape and abandoned one of the vehicles further ahead.

The victim's father highlighted the proximity of the crime to a police station, which further increased his outrage: "They steal a car one block from the police station and on the next block they kill my daughter, and nothing happens, nobody does anything."

He also harshly criticized Buenos Aires governor Kicillof for publicly downplaying insecurity: "Meanwhile, the governor has the nerve to say that murders and robberies have gone down, why doesn't he go out on the street to see what it is?" "Here at 8 p.m. nobody walks, we can't go out," he lamented.

The mix of pain and anger ran through all his words. "Today I feel like going out and killing them all," he confessed, making clear the level of desperation his family is experiencing. "At some point this will have to change," he added.

The case is being handled by prosecutor Marcelo Diomede, from UFI No. 5 of La Matanza, who ordered a series of forensic tests to reconstruct the complete sequence of the episode and find those responsible. Meanwhile, residents of Villa Madero are demanding more security and justice for Paola, a new victim of the relentless violence affecting Greater Buenos Aires.
