FIFA has announced the list of 11 nominees for the Puskás Award 2025, the recognition that distinguishes the best goal of the year and that, since its creation in 2009, has become one of the most iconic trophies in world football. The award, named in honor of the legendary Ferenc Puskás, celebrates the creativity, technique, and beauty of goals scored in any official competition, whether by clubs or national teams, throughout the season.
This edition's selected nominees include two Argentine representatives: Pedro "Pepo" De la Vega, who scored a spectacular goal against Cruz Azul, and Santiago Montiel, who amazed with his goal in the match between Independiente and Independiente Rivadavia. Both dream of winning one of the most symbolic awards on the football calendar.
Their names appear alongside international stars such as Declan Rice, who dazzled with his finish against Real Madrid, and Lamine Yamal, who starred with a gem in the clásico between Barcelona and Espanyol.
Fans from all over the world can now vote for their favorite on FIFA's official website, thus helping to choose the successor to the last winner of the prestigious award.
