FIFA published its latest update of the world national team ranking, corresponding to December 2025, and confirmed that the Argentina National Team will finish the year in second place in the standings, only behind Spain, which will also be its next opponent in the Finalissima. This way, the Albiceleste confirms its place among the powers of international soccer looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup.

The team coached by Lionel Scaloni did not undergo any changes compared to the previous update and remains in second place with 1,873.33 points, after having led the ranking uninterruptedly from April 2023 to September 2025. Spain holds on to first place with 1,877.18 points, while France completes the podium with 1,870, in a classification that also did not show any changes in its top three positions.

The top ten of the ranking also did not record any changes. Behind the podium appear England in fourth place, followed by Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia, which closes the group of the ten best national teams in the world.

Just outside is Morocco, semifinalist of the last World Cup and brand-new champion of the FIFA Arab Cup, only 0.54 points behind the Croatian team, which leaves it well positioned to enter the top ten for the first time in the next FIFA international window or even during the 2026 World Cup.
