The lack of reinforcements at Boca just a few days before the start of the 2026 Apertura Tournament set off alarms among the club's historic leaders. One of those who publicly expressed his concern was Rolando Schiavi, former Xeneize defender and multiple champion with the institution, who did not hide his surprise at the total absence of signings in the transfer market.
In that regard, the former player, multiple champion with the blue and gold jersey, analyzed the situation on ESPN and was blunt. "It's extremely strange. I think it's crazy that no player has been brought in", he stated when referring to the management led by Juan Román Riquelme, when there are just days left before the official debut of the season.
Schiavi delved deeper into his analysis and pointed to the need for internal renewal. "You have players who are in Boca's squad and who have not played a match for one or two years. You have to make changes and bring in other fresh players", the former defender maintained.
He also emphasized that the sporting context demands a greater effort in the market. "Boca has the Copa Libertadores. It has far more demands than last year and we have all been waiting for it to be champion for years. Then, you have the possibility of strengthening the squad and you do not do it", he pointed out.
