After reappearing at CPAC alongside conservative leaders, Bolsonaro stated that he will continue to fight for Brazil from the US and left open the possibility of running again if there are new elections

In the context of the brutal authoritarian escalation and the systematic judicial persecution unleashed in Brazil by the regime socialist dictator Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the regional political scenario has reached a dimension of international resistance. Faced with the harassment from the Lulism-addicted judiciary and the arbitrary resolutions of Judge Alexandre de Moraes in the Supreme Federal Court (STF), the Bolsonaro family had to embark on the path of political asylum to safeguard their lives and freedom. This exile exposes to the global community the destruction of democracy under the petista regime, which keeps former president Jair Bolsonaro imprisoned with a sentence of 27 years in prison and has arrest warrants against right-wing figures such as former congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro.

The focus of this historic day was centered on the first exclusive statements made by conservative Flávio Bolsonaro after achieving his emergency exit to the United States. From the city of Miami, Florida, the opposition leader broke the silence in an exclusive interview granted to the American newspaper The New York Times, where he dismantled the accusations from the government, denounced the illegitimacy of the vote count, and detailed the tense context surrounding his departure.

Going into the meticulous details of the escape, Flávio Bolsonaro recounted that the decision to leave the country arose spontaneously with his wife, Fernanda Bolsonaro, on the morning after the runoff election. At that moment, as he was leaving the condominium in Brasilia where his father, Jair Bolsonaro, is under house arrest, he was intercepted in the street by agents of the Federal Police, who notified him of a court order that granted him only 24 hours to hand over his passports and imposed a strict prohibition on leaving the country. In an emotional exchange before parting, former president Jair Bolsonaro called him aside and asked: “You know where they want to go with this, right?”, to which the senator responded with absolute composure: “Father, I already know. I am prepared, I know what I have to do”.

To avoid alerting the regime's security forces, Flávio Bolsonaro published a strategic video on his social media a few hours later in which he claimed that “I never thought about leaving the country” and promised to deliver the required documents. However, the right-wing leader disappeared from the official radar in a coordinated manner and reappeared victorious in Miami approximately 42 hours later. Regarding the logistics of the reserved route —which included a stop in Argentina on October 27, crossing the Tancredo Neves International Bridge at 22:37 hours and taking off at 23:52 hours from Puerto Iguazú on a private flight to Guayaquil, Ecuador—, the senator kept the exact route secret and stated categorically: “How I got here, I will take to the grave”.

Furthermore, Flávio Bolsonaro firmly denied the versions attributing the operation to the collaboration of foreign administrations, asserting: “It was just me. There was absolutely no help from anyone, from any government”. He clarified that the initiative was strictly personal and familial, indicating that “there may have been moral support, but nothing more” from friends abroad, while it was confirmed that U.S. authorities granted him, his wife, and their two daughters a humanitarian immigration status for 1 year in the United States.

In analyzing the political and legal background, Flávio Bolsonaro justified his departure by pointing out that his parliamentary mandate ends in early 2027, at which point he will lose his immunity and be at the mercy of the Lula-friendly courts. “I already know that the final outcome will be my imprisonment”, he warned indignantly, reiterating that the election result was “mathematically impossible” and stating: “I lost against the system”.

The conservative leader severely questioned the anomalous two-hour extension in the voting dictated by the STF, which impacted 34,000 votes in a contest with a 4.4 million vote difference. After praising the neutrality of President Donald Trump by stating that “he did not take sides, which is the right thing to do”, Flávio Bolsonaro reaffirmed that his exile is temporary and issued a challenging warning to the lulista dictatorship: “If there are new elections, I will obviously run again”.

The political offensive of conservatism was enriched this Thursday, November 5, 2026, when Flávio Bolsonaro made his imposing public reappearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), held at the private residence of Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago, located in Palm Beach, Florida. Introduced on the main stage amidst cheers by the CPAC president, Matt Schlapp, the Brazilian senator was accompanied by his brother Eduardo Bolsonaro and shared a panel with American actor Jim Caviezel —who will portray Jair Bolsonaro in the biographical film Dark Horse—.

In a vibrant message delivered before the leading leaders, donors, and activists of the global conservative movement, Flávio Bolsonaro reaffirmed his continental leadership, declaring vehemently: “And from here, from the United States, I will continue to fight with all my strength for my country”. With deep civic and spiritual conviction, the right-wing leader concluded by stating that “everything is under God's control” and promised that “the doors that God opens, no one can close”, making it clear that the wave of freedom initiated by bolsonarismo will definitively defeat socialism in Brazil.
