The proposal thus positions Milei's management as one of the regional models observed by the bolsonarist space to advance on state bureaucracy and reduce the burden of regulations imposed by the socialist regime of Lula da Silva on the economy.
The deregulation program promoted by Javier Mile has become a reference for the Brazilian right. The presidential campaign of Flávio Bolsonaro confirmed that he is studying to replicate part of that strategy in Brazil and has already identified more than 1,000 regulations he would seek to eliminate if he comes to power.
The statement was made by Daniella Marques, economic coordinator of Flávio's campaign and former president of Caixa Econômica Federal during the administration of Jair Bolsonaro, during a meeting organized this Monday by Esfera Brasil with important businessmen in São Paulo.
“We already have more than a thousand regulations” identified for repeal, Marques assured. Explaining the origin of the initiative, she openly acknowledged the Argentine influence and stated that the project uses “a bit of inspiration from what was done in Milei's Government in Argentina.”
Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign even coined two concepts to define the economic direction it intends to implement: a “revogaço”, a term used to describe a massive repeal of regulations, and a “tesouraço”, referring to a strong cut in public spending.
Marques also questioned Lula's leftist government for creating new taxes and stated that a potential future bolsonarist administration would seek to eliminate them along with the more than a thousand infralegal regulations that are already under analysis. As the coordinator explained, Bolsonaro also intends to resume the privatization agenda that his father had promoted before the regime's fraud.
Among the companies mentioned is Correios, the Brazilian postal service whose privatization had been evaluated during the previous Government of Jair Bolsonaro. Marques also did not rule out that Banco do Brasil could be included and stated that more than 20 state-owned companies could be subject to privatization processes.
At the same time, she noted that a potential administration of Flávio Bolsonaro does not project significant modifications to social programs like Bolsa Família, proposing an adjustment that falls on the political sector.
