Flybondi announced the largest fleet renewal and expansion plan of the last 20 years in the Latin American commercial aviation market. The company will invest USD 1.7 billion to add 35 new aircraft, in a strategy aimed at increasing local routes and entering key markets in the region: Paraguay, Colombia, the Caribbean, and northern Brazil.
The announcement comes after a period of sustained growth for the company, which has established itself as a central player in the democratization of Argentine air transport. With this leap, Flybondi seeks to scale its business model and compete in an increasingly integrated scenario in Latin America.
A strategic combination: Airbus A220 and Boeing 737 MAX 10
To carry out the expansion, the airline signed agreements with the two most important manufacturers in the world.
- Airbus A220-300: Flybondi will add 15 units, with an option for 5 more. These aircraft have a capacity for 160 passengers and will arrive between 2027 and 2029.
- Boeing 737 MAX 10: The company will add 10 aircraft, with an option for 5 more. This is the highest-capacity model in the MAX family, with space for 240 passengers, which allows for the possibility of including a business class on specific routes without abandoning the low-cost profile.
The company's CEO, Mauricio Sana, emphasized that this is the "most important fleet expansion in the region in two decades" and that growth will occur while maintaining affordable fares and improving the passenger experience.
