Formula 1: Piastri won again, Gasly crashed, and Doohan finished second to last
McLaren continues to dominate and its drivers pull away from the Red Bull driver in the drivers' standings. Meanwhile, the French team once again scored 0 points in Saudi Arabia
Oscar Piastri won for the second consecutive time this year, this time in Saudi Arabia. With this new victory, the Australian driver achieved his third win so far in 2025, allowing him to remain the absolute leader of the Drivers' Championship. Meanwhile, Alpine's drivers disappointed again, as Jack Doohan finished second to last and Pierre Gasly retired on the first lap due to a collision with Yuki Tsunoda.

The race in Jeddah started intensely. Piastri threatened to take the lead from Verstappen at the initial corner, although the Dutchman managed to keep it. However, he received a penalty for exceeding track limits. In that same lap, Yuki Tsunoda rear-ended Gasly and both had to retire. Meanwhile, Lando Norris, the previous season leader, crossed the finish line in fourth place after starting from tenth, due to the accident suffered in Q3.
Despite some exchanges at the front due to different strategies, the battle for victory focused exclusively between the McLaren and Red Bull drivers, who showed solid pace from start to finish and took advantage of their good starting positions. With this result, Piastri became the first Australian to lead the Drivers' Championship since Mark Webber, his current representative, achieved it in 2010. Meanwhile, the Dutchman is in third place, just two points behind Norris and 12 behind the leader.

Alpine scored 0 points again
The French team's performance next weekend was negative after having scored their first points in Bahrain. With Gasly's car seriously damaged, leading to his retirement, and Doohan failing to finish in the top 10, ending in 17th place out of 18, the French team left Jeddah without points.

The rookie's performance continues to decline as the Grands Prix progress. Even more so considering that his teammate, despite his experience, is starting to show a level more in line with initial expectations, dispelling doubts from the start of the championship. Ahead of the Miami GP, which will take place on May 4, he signed his worst performance of the year and the chances of seeing Colapinto as a starter seem to be growing.
