In the lead-up to the United States Grand Prix, Franco Colapinto made an emotional gesture. Through the official X account of Alpine, the team published a video in which the Argentine driver sent a special message for Mother's Day in Argentina, with a particular dedication to his mother, Andrea Trofimczuk.
"Happy day to the most important people in our lives, with all my heart, especially to mine. Mom, I love you very much. I hope you have a wonderful day from afar," said Colapinto, who also joked about the possibility of giving her a "nice little gift" in reference to the race he will compete in this Sunday at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.
The message quickly went viral among Argentine fans, who closely follow the growth of the young driver from Pilar, one of the most promising names in national and international motorsport.
Colapinto has repeatedly highlighted the importance of his mother in his sports career. From a very young age, when he left Argentina at 14 years old to compete in Europe, daily video calls were his way of staying in touch despite the distance.
Colapinto siempre destacó a su madre
The Argentine driver, who this year is experiencing his first full season in Formula 1 with Alpine, will face a new challenge this Sunday starting at 4 p.m., when he starts from fifteenth place after advancing to Q2 in qualifying. He will be positioned behind his teammate, the Frenchman Pierre Gasly, with the intention of scoring points in a season that continues to consolidate his growth.
